Does the assistant get access to my pets or my account?

No. There is nothing to connect and nothing to log into. All the assistant does is write a web address — it never talks to Household Pet, never sees your pets, and could not add anything even if it tried. The reminder only exists once you open the link yourself and save it in the app.

Which assistants does this work with?

Any that can open a web link: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot and Perplexity all can. If yours cannot, there is a longer version of the instructions on this page that you paste in instead — it carries everything the linked page would have told it.

What if it gets the date wrong?

You will see it. The page the link opens writes the date out in full, with the weekday — "Tue 3 Nov 2026" rather than a string of numbers — precisely so a date an assistant guessed at is obvious to the one person who can catch it. Nothing is created until you tap save in the app, so a wrong link costs you one tap.

Can I get several reminders at once?

Yes — ask for one link per reminder. A course of four puppy vaccinations comes back as four links, one per line. They cannot be combined into a single link, because the code you scan would get too dense for a phone camera to read off a screen.

Do I have to paste the cheat sheet in every time?

Only once per conversation. Ask for another reminder in the same chat and it already knows how. In a brand new chat, paste it again — or save it wherever your assistant keeps standing instructions, so it is always there.

Can it add a pet too?

Yes, the same way. Ask for a link that adds a pet and you get a filled-in version of the add-pet form — name, species, breed, date of birth, microchip number and the rest. That one is worth doing on a computer: a fifteen-digit microchip number is miserable to type on a phone.

Ask for your reminder, in the same chat

Say it the way you would say it out loud. Include the pet, what it is for, and when.

Give it real dates where you can. Most assistants know today's date and can work out “next Tuesday”, but the date gets baked into the link, so it is one of the things worth a glance in step three.

Open the link and save it

The link opens a page with the reminder already filled in and a code to scan. Your phone does the rest.

Then pick the pet. The app shows you the reminder and asks which animal it belongs to. It is saved when you tap, and not a moment before.

Nothing happens until you say so

The assistant is not connected to Household Pet. It cannot see your pets, it has no account, and it is not sending anything anywhere — it is writing a web address, and the answers sit in that address until you open it. If it gets a date or a name wrong, you will see it on the page before you scan, and you can change it there.

The date is written out with its weekday, which is the easiest way to catch a mistake. A link you would rather not have costs you one tap to walk away from.

If your assistant cannot open links

Some assistants, and some offline or work-restricted setups, will not fetch a web page. Paste this instead of the line in step one — it says everything the page would have told them — then finish the sentence at the bottom with your reminder.
